Today, in the engineering space, systems engineering and PLM are, for the most part, tackled as two separate disciplines. Whilst systems engineering is used in the early phases to simulate the concept, PLM then comes into play in the more detailed elements of design.
At Airbus, Anders Romare, VP, Engineering, feels this is an inefficient and siloed way of working. With both principles working to optimize the overall design of the product/service, Anders walks us through what they are doing to integrate the two and how this has impacted the overall lifecycle.
