Snippet - The Digital Twin in Fashion and Apparel

Despite the textile industry being full of moving, starting-over stories, and representing creativity, its technology level is – compared to other industries – still low. For many, there is simply no need to improve or change the way the industry manufacturers with regards to machinery or processes. Joachim explains how the digital twin can be leveraged in the fashion industry to design better products and increase speed to market.

Since 2015 Joachim held the position of Managing Director at Hugo Boss Industries Ltd, a German luxury fashion house. He joined Hugo Boss in Men’s tailoring in 1984 and since then held a variety of positions, including Head of Pattern Design, Head of Technical Product Development and Head of Product Excellence. He believes that the textile industry is catching up to global technology trends and his aim is to create an environment at Hugo Boss that is open minded and strives to be prepared for future challenges.
