The digital transformation at KUKA is leading, in the long-term - to the development of smart tools & services, smart production & logistics concepts as well as smart products. On the one hand, and as a robot and machine manufacturer, KUKA is already a user of services in the field of smart tools and uses these to optimize its machines and services close to the machine. On the other hand, as a plant builder in the field of production and logistics, KUKA is a supplier of factories and department stores, as well as industrial users of the technologies in the industrial sector.

After earning a degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from Karlsruhe University in 1993, Christian received a doctor's degree in Business Informatics at Passau University in 1998.

Christian began his professional career in 1989 as partner and co-founder of ASINDA GmbH.  In 1994, he joined the Development Department of SAP AG in Germany and held the position of the Senior Vice President of Technology Solution Management in the USA. From 2009 and 2015, he was Global Head of Software Development at Wincor Nixdorf in Germany. In 2015, Christian joined KUKA as Chief Technology Officer for the KUKA Group.
